Fiorentina De Biasi was born in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy. She studied at the Department of Art Music and Entertaining at Bologna University and graduated in 1999. After experimenting with painting, Fiorentina began performing photo collage. The artist shatters form and color and merges it with landscapes and spaces linking them together with staples. What emerges is a unified journey between an urban scenario and contemporary mitography. The photographic souvenirs have been broken into pieces and liberally, uninterruptedly, rearranged. The observer’s sight and the photographic reproduction become vision, a fractured and oblique vision, so deep as to reveal possible senses and ulterior meanings.
